At HKMP, our focus is on what is best for the company, shareholders and family. We do not take a myopic approach to planning. We make certain that the business, personal, family planning and estate tax goals of the shareholder are consistent. We work closely with family members to achieve desired results. Having said that, HKMP’s leaders also have experience in such services as forensic accounting and litigation support, insurance claim valuation and calculation, management and IT consulting, financial planning and tax advisory services, as well as traditional accounting and auditing.
Ron is managing partner of HKMP. He has extensive experience serving a wide range of corporate and individual clients in numerous industries. Ron began his career with Deloitte and Touche (DT) before moving on as a controller for both a public and private company before finding his home at HKMP.
Joining HKMP as a partner, he brought the technical skills he acquired from his public and private experience. In addition, Ron brought a commitment, stemming from his experience on both the performance and receiving side of audits and tax, to provide personalized service to each and every client. Since becoming managing partner in 1985, he has been instrumental in contributing to the firm’s growth through his emphasis on quality and customized service.
Ron earned a B.S. degree from Long Island University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. . Additionally, he is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and currently serves on its Closely Held & S Corporations Committee.
Russell Kranzler is our partner in charge of litigation support and claims valuation services. A CPA and Certified Forensic Accountant with certification in Financial Forensics, Russell possesses the investigative skills, accounting knowledge and financial acumen to address complex business problems associated with bankruptcies, insurance claims, economic damage calculations, frauds, and contract disputes. In addition, Russell has provided expert witness testimony in a wide array of engagements. Russell assists attorneys, private investigation firms, insurance companies and clients to quantify claims involving situations related to business interruption, employee dishonesty, burglary, theft, or any other insured perils.
A graduate of Ohio State University, Russell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), the NYSSCPA Litigation Service Committee, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the American College of Forensic Examiners.
Tim McCosker is HKMP’s partner in charge of corporate taxation and bankruptcy services. Tim is frequently the lead partner in many engagements involving corporate insolvencies and restructurings as well as providing support services to trustees in bankruptcy.
Tim specializes in audits of employee benefit plans and charitable foundations and is an expert in accounting for the construction industry. In addition, he provides tax and management consulting services to family run, closely held businesses and oversees the firm’s quality control programs.
Tim holds a BA from Baruch College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the NYSSCPA Bankruptcy and Financial Reorganization Committee. He has also served on the Society’s Construction Accounting Committee.
Anthony Pulice is HKMP’s partner in charge of the trusts and estates practice. He specializes in serving family owned businesses for which he provides financial consulting, tax planning and accounting services. Tony works closely with clients and their legal advisors to examine wills, trusts and business agreements, including business succession and transfer strategies.
As a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner, Tony is also an expert in forensic accounting and litigation support. Tony holds a BBA and MBA in Accounting from Pace University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also a member of the NYSSCPA Estate Planning Committee.
Thomas Scotti, CPA, a partner at HKMP since December 2005, graduated in 1999 from Queens College with a BA in both Accounting and Economics. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA). He is also an Associate Member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Tom assists clients in industries as varied as wholesale liquor distribution, financial services and construction. His clients in these industries range from businesses with capitalization of several billion dollars to small closely-held family-owned businesses. Tom also provides tax planning services to our high net worth clients.
In addition to his client responsibilities, Tom supervises the training and development of staff at HKMP.
Stephen Barrett, CPA, CITP, is a partner at HKMP and HKMP Technologies, LLC. He oversees the development of HKMP Technologies’ audit methodology management tool — amelio® — which helps firms to manage and automate checklists and procedures. Stephen’s unique combination of accounting skills and IT mastery has made him a well-known accounting technology consultant in the US. Stephen has over ten years of experience consulting with CPA firms and associations of all sizes.
